Your Tenancy Agreement
Your tenancy agreement is a legal
contract. By signing the agreement you have entered into a
legal contract with Rochdale MBC and the conditions within the
agreement become binding on you as tenant(s) and the Council, as
your landlord.
There are two types of Council tenancy,
introductory tenancies and secure tenancies. Unless you are
already a secure tenant, you will start your tenancy as an
introductory tenant. Your introductory tenancy will last for 12
months from the date that your tenancy begins. If you do not
break any of the tenancy conditions during this time you will
automatically become a secure tenant after this 12 month
period.
The tenancy agreement describes the rights and
responsibilities of introductory and secure tenancies. It
also sets out those of the Council. It contains information
