Rent

Your rent is important. Without it, we could not provide an effective housing service. Your rent pays for most of the services you receive from Rochdale Boroughwide Housing.  For example, it pays for the staff who help and support tenants, for repairs to your home and improvements to your estate.

You are responsible for the payment of your rent and water charges which are payable on a weekly basis unless you pay in advance by Direct Debit.

Water charges, which are included in your weekly rent, are not covered by Housing Benefit so these charges will always be payable regardless of your income.

Your rent is due weekly. The rent week starts on a Monday and finishes at 4.45pm on Friday. If you owe us any money at the end of the week, we class it as arrears. If you pay your rent fortnightly or monthly you need to pay in advance.

It is our aim to make it as simple as possible for you to pay your rent by providing as many payment methods as possible.

If you are having difficulty paying your rent you should contact us straight away.

Find out more about paying your rent, your rent account, what to do if you are struggling to pay and how we can help by clicking on the links on the left hand menu bar.
