How to pay your bills
Rent
After you sign up, you will be issued with a swipe card that
will contain your rent account reference number & you will be
given full details of all the payment methods, which are:
- Direct Debit
- Pay by cash or debit card at Post Offices & Pay Point
outlets.
- Over the phone
- By text
- Standing Order

Water
RBH collects the water charge weekly along with the rent. The
payment methods are as above.
Council Tax
You can pay your council tax by:
- Direct Debit (weekly / fortnightly / monthly / quarterly / half
yearly / annually)

- Over the phone
- By post
- At post offices & pay point outlets
When you take up a tenancy, you will receive a bill from the
Council. The amount you have to pay will be worked out, with
payment details set out on the bill. Whichever way you decide to
pay, be sure to ring and arrange it with Council Tax payments

Gas & Electricity
All suppliers are slightly different, but most will have the
following options:
- Direct debit
- Online payments
- Internet banking
- Standing order
- Using a swipe card (usually called a ‘paygo’ swipe card)
- Prepayment meter (sometimes referred to as ‘pay-as-you-go’. Be
careful not to get it confused with a paygo swipe card – both
methods can involve cards)
- Over the phone
- Quarterly bill
The way you pay can affect the tariff you pay & can make a
difference to how much you pay. Think carefully about the method
that suits you. For instance a web-based tariff by standing order
will save you money, but a prepayment meter might give you more
control if on a limited budget,
TV Licence
You can pay by:
- Direct Debit (yearly / monthly / quarterly)
- Pay Point outlet
- TV Licence payment card (also known as weekly or cash payment
plan)
- TV savings card (save for your next licence)
- Cheque or postal order
- BACS – electronic bank transfer
- Online
- Over the phone
