Benefits - Pension Credit

What is it?

There are two types of Pension Credit; Guarantee Credit and Savings Credit.  Guarantee Credit is an entitlement for people aged 60 and Savings Credit is for people aged 65 and over. 

Who is eligible?

  • Guarantee Credit guarantees everyone living in the United Kingdom aged 60 and over a minimum weekly Income by topping up your weekly income.
  • You can apply up to four months before the date from, which you want to start getting Pension Credit

How much will I get?

If you or if you have a partner is 60 or over, then the amount of Guarantee Credit is:

  • £132.60 per week, if your are single
  • £202.40 per week, if you have a partner
  • These amounts may be more if you are disabled or have caring responsibilities
  • Your entitlement to Pension Credit will be affected by how much income you have.
