Happier Neighbourhoods

Our customers are happier than ever with the way RBH has helped improve their local area, with satisfaction in their neighbourhood as a place to live having increased by 5% to 81%.

Over the past 12 months overall satisfaction with the services we provide has remained high at 81%. This puts the organisation in the top quartile of all ALMOs - where council housing is managed at arms-length to the local council, like RBH – across the UK.

The strengthening of the in-house Legal Services and Enforcement Team and new early intervention measures have also paid dividends, with the number of reported cases of anti social behaviour down 17%.

These are the headline results from our latest Tenant Satisfaction Survey that was completed in January.

The Government requires all social landlords to carry out a standard survey using set questions every two years. However we decided to do this annually to allow the organisation to keep a better track of what customers think and to respond to their concerns.

For this year’s survey a random group of 3,000 tenants were contacted by post and more than 1,000 questionnaires were completed and returned.

Noel Chambers, our new Board Chair, (pictured) said: "We value the views of our customers and these results are gratifying, as the Board and all our staff have worked hard to improve services over the past year. In particular, we set tough, new targets for our Grounds Maintenance partners, invested in more environmental improvements and enhanced our caretaking services, so I am pleased that this is reflected in people’s general perceptions of their local area."

Gareth Swarbrick, our Chief Executive, added: "I’m really pleased that our customers are generally happier with our services, but we are never complacent. Our mission is ‘to deliver excellent services and build stronger communities’ and we are committed to improving further. We will use the detailed survey results to develop our future plans and to make sure that we are focused on the issues important to tenants."
