In December 2011 a majority of tenants
voted in favour of transferring the Council’s housing stock to a
new mutual Rochdale Boroughwide Housing (RBH). Following the vote,
in March 2012, we took over the ownership of the homes formerly
owned by Rochdale Council. We now own and manage around
13,750 homes in the borough.
This means that RBH will soon become
the UK’s first tenant and employee co-owned mutual
landlord.
The New Mutual RBH Belongs to You -
Take up your right to be a Member !
Tenant and Employee Members will be vital to
the success of the new mutual RBH. We are now inviting you to be
part of this exciting development by becoming a Member of the new
mutual society. Your involvement as a Member can be as active as
you want it to be.
As a Member you can choose a level of
involvement to suit you. You might just want to be kept up to date
with what’s going on, vote for your representatives and take
advantage of the Member benefits that will be developed. Or, you
can choose to be more involved by attending and having your say and
voting at meetings. You might want to be involved in helping to
develop a package of Member benefits or specific activities in your
local community. You may also want to stand for election to the RBH
Representative Body.
Whatever you want your Membership to be we
will provide advice, support or training as needed to help you get
the most out of it.
