Meet the winners of our 2007 Taking a Stand Award

Communities First is a package of incentives that aims to recognise, promote and reward good behaviour and the contributions made by tenants and groups to improve community spirit.

“Taking a Stand” Awards recognise the commitment and courage of tenants, residents and tenants groups on local Council estates who make a difference to their community by standing up to anti-social behaviour.

If you know someone who goes that little bit further to make your community a safer and stronger place to live, please tell us about them.

Maybe you know someone or a group who has:

  • set up an action group to deal with noise or neighbour problems?
  • organised events to deter people from committing anti-social behaviour ?
  • supported someone who has suffered from anti-social behaviour?
  • Campaigned in their local area for change?
  • been a witness to anti-social behaviour and given evidence in court?
  • Done something else to tackle anti-social behaviour and strengthen their community?

If so, please nominate them for a “Taking a Stand” award 2008.

Everyone who is nominated will receive a certificate and winners will receive £50 in shopping vouchers.

We will accept nominations at any time. To be considered for a 2008 award your nomination should be received no later than 30th June 2008.
