Sheltered Housing
Sheltered housing is ideal for elderly people who can manage their own home, but who may need a little help to stay independent. A sheltered housing scheme usually consists of 25 - 35 individual flats. Most flats in sheltered housing schemes have: Their own bedroom, lounge area, kitchen and bathroom Central heating An electric cooker (in some flats) A shared lounge and laundry room A 24 hour warden and alarm service Find out more in the sheltered housing tenants handbook (372kb pdf) See our list of sheltered housing schemes Visit our HomeChoice website to apply. You should be 60 years or over, with a need for this type of housing. People under 60 may be considered if they have special needs that would be helped by living in a sheltered scheme.
