What are the reasons you can get possession of my home? We can ask for a possession order to make you leave your home for reasons set out in law (these are known as grounds). If you break one or more of these grounds, we may decide that we no longer want you to be one of our tenants. To do this we have to prove in court that you have not kept to the conditions you agreed in your tenancy agreement, and it is reasonable to repossess your home. The tenancy agreement makes it clear that you , as a tenant, are responsible for the action of anyone living in or visiting your home. This includes what they do not only inside your home but also in the neighbourhood around you. We may take possession of your home for the following reasons: You have not paid your rent You have broken the tenancy conditions You, or anyone living in or visiting the property, have been guilty of causing a nuisance or annoying people living in or visiting the area. You, or anyone living in or visiting the property, have been convicted of using your home or allowing your home to be used for illegal purposes. You, or anyone living in or visiting the property, are convicted of supplying drugs of any kind from your home or the area around it. You gave false information to get your home. You have allowed the property or the communal areas to be damaged or neglected. Making changes to your tenancy Can anyone inherit my tenancy when I die? |
