Planned Maintenance - Boiler Controls

If you have had a new boiler fitted your Development Officer will provide detailed user instructions and advice about how to obtain the most efficient use of your new boiler. You will also be given a manufacturers operating manual.  Please see below for a quick guide to your boiler controls

General

Ensure that the main electrical isolating switch is in the 'on' position.

Programmer

Check that the clock is set to the correct time of day by rotating the dial clockwise so the correct time is in line with the raised arroww with 'time' written against it.

Set the heating / how water switching programmes (sliding switches) to the desired positions as shown below.

Off The system is continuously off
Twice The system will switch on and off in the morning and again on and off in the evening at the programmed times
All Day The system wills witch on in the morning and stay on until switched off in the evening at the programmed times
On The system is continuously on
Override button

Pressing this buttom once will brting forward the next 'on' or 'off' period.

Boost Pressing this button once will bring on the heating and/or hot water for 1 hour, then automatically turn off.
Room thermostat

Set the room thermostat to the required temperature. This will turn the heating off when the room, where the thermostat is fitted reaches the desired temperature. Depending on where the room thermostat is fitted the following settings are recommended:

In the hall 18c
In the lounge 21c
Boiler
Master switch This should normall be in the od position (left hand switch)(The light indicator shows green and the display will show the central heating flow tempreature when the boiler is operating in the central heating mode)
Central heating temperature It is recommended tha the tempreature control is always set to 'E' except when it is extremely cold outside (Turn switch to max)
Frost protection Leave the master switch on. If the boiler is to be left off for a long period turn the central heating tempreature control off.
Hot water temperature The hot water is pre-set at 60 - 65c but can be adjusted if required.
