Estate Walkabouts
Estate walkabouts involve undertaking regular checks on the condition of our estates, looking at how clean and tidy they are and identifying environmental and other concerns that affect the quality of life for tenants and residents who live in and around them.
You are welcome to join us on any of our walkabouts, for more information just look at the schedule of walkabouts planned in your area, if you are interested in taking part just contact the appropriate Housing Officer on the number shown.
On designated walkabouts (highlighted in bold) we will also be inviting some of our partner agencies such as The Police, Ward Councilors and Environmental Management to get involved. This is an ideal opportunity for you to have your say on issues that affect you and to get your point across directly to the people involved in delivering the services that affect you.
If you would like more information about the estate walkabout process please contact Nigel Allan on (01706) 273832.

Tenant Inspectors
We have a team of tenant inspectors who are consulted on a number of issues:
- Carrying out regular inspections of empty properties that are ready to let to assess them against our ready to let standard.
- Carrying out a programme of inspections on estates to assess the cleanliness and general appearance of Rochdale estates.
- We are working with a number of other local housing organisations to carry out reviews of service standards. Teams of Tenant Inspectors with representatives from each participating organisation will be carrying out a range of activities in their own and other local authority areas, such as estate inspections, assessing the standard of ready to let properties, mystery shopping etc. The group is newly established and will begin their work by looking at a Rochdale estate, a Bolton estate and a Bury estate. The teams will compare the standard of cleanliness and the overall appearance of the estates and compare service standards.
If you would like to find out more about becoming a tenant inspector please contact Nigel Allan on (01706) 273832 or e-mail nigel.allan@rbhousing.org.uk
