Policy Statement

Rochdale Council, through RBH, is committed to maximising the choices and help available to people in need of rehousing regardless of their individual needs and circumstances, choice of tenure, landlord, area, property type or size or the support services they require.

At the same time the Council is committed to helping customers choose their new homes as quickly and easily as possible. It is therefore the policy of the Council to operate a choice based lettings system for allocating homes across as many landlords as possible whilst recognising those in urgent need of rehousing should be given reasonable preference for a new home.
