Training for Tenants and Residents
Want to get involved in improving housing services or
your community and use your experiences to gain an
accredited qualification?
Then the Active Learning for Residents (ALfR)
course is for you.
ALfR was created by the Chartered Institute of Housing in order
to help residents become involved with their communities and their
Housing provider and reward them with a real qualification. It
focuses on accrediting the skills you gain as you work to change
your community or scrutinise the Housing Service for the better and
will enable you to:
- Tailor your learning to your
surroundings.
- Work at your own speed.
- Reflect on real life challenges and
successes.
You will receive nationally recognised qualification at the end
of it which will be the equivalent of a GCSE.
The following courses are available,
- Community Action - (working in your
community).
- Resident Scrutiny – (scrutinising the
Housing Service).
Instead of exams you will have a
recogniser/mentor from RBH who will observe, discuss and evaluate
your achievements as they guide you throughout the course.
