You must provide two forms of ID with your completed application form. One of which should preferably be a photo ID and the other must confirm your current address. ID must be provided for all applicants and anyone aged 16 or over who are part of the moving family. Copies of birth certificates and child benefit letter must be provided for any children aged 16 and under in the moving family.

Information to confirm employment and support should also accompany your form and if you live outside the borough and feel you have a local connection then proof of this should also be provided.

Applications will not be processed without this information.

Once we have received your application accompanied by all the relevant information, it will then be assessed for eligibility. If you have current or former tenancy arrears with a landlord or you have caused a serious nuisance then you may be classed as ineligible for rehousing. We will write to you to inform you of your ineligibility but you do have a Right of Appeal.

If your application is accepted the necessary priority band will be awarded to your application and you will receive a registration letter and card which will provide you with your registration number and priority band.

You are then ready to look for suitable properties on the HomeChoice section of our website.
